Four Ball Machines used for testing extreme pressure, wear Preventive characteristics of lubricating oils, greases & evaluation of cutting fluids and polymer containing oils.

Imperial Four-Ball Machines designed to perform tests as per the following International Standards.

ASTM D2596

Extreme Pressure Properties of Lubricating Fluids and Greases

ASTM D2783

ASTM D2266

Wear Preventive Characteristics of Oils and Greases

ASTM D4172

FTMS 791-6503

IP 239

Extreme-Pressure Properties, Friction and Wear tests for lubricants

GOST 9490-77

The rotating ball is pressed onto three stationary balls of the same size and quality. Wear scars on surface, welding of balls, torque and size of seizure delay is measured with continuously variable speed.
